Principal Investigator of Engineering Pedagogy and Design Lab
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
University of California San Diego
I am an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University of California San Diego. I earned my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology and my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University. I teach a variety of classes in engineering mechanics, mechanial design and sustainable engineering design. Originated from keen interest in teaching, my primary research focus on engineering education.
Research Interests
My research focuses on Instructional and assessment design that:
1. Help engineering students to develop long-lasting and transferable knowledge and problem-solving skills;
2. Increase students' intrinsic motivation for learning;
3. Grow students as effective self-regulated learners and their meta-cognition skills
